COMPLAINT #2- jILL cARLSON, ATTORNEY

THE COMPLAINT

The results from the office of judicial discipline

TAKEAWAY FROM THE COMPLAINANT

They acknowledge that Judge Furse may have done something wrong (like repeated violations of the law) but submit that is better posed to the Appellate Court- a costly and time-consuming process that cannot always be afforded by individuals. Furthermore, I was not a party to any of these cases and I personally do not have recourse to pursue an appeal. Regardless, some of Judge Furse’s decisions cited in the various complaints are currently on appeal and we are waiting.

The concerning part of this letter to me is the final paragraph which is copied and pasted in this letter twice. In the last sentence, the Executive Director states, “Please be advised that the Colorado Constitution and Colo. RJD 6.5 require our records and proceedings to remain confidential.” This is an implication that I must also keep this record confidential.” I don’t agree with that- especially as I am now aware that the Colorado Judicial Discipline Commission has not promulgated any rules regarding this. This appears to be an attempt at an arbitrary restraint on my free speech. RJD 6.5 does not apply to private citizens. No complainants’ rights were ever provided to me and if I was not an attorney and didn’t know how to pick apart the letter and research for myself, I would not know that I had full rights to speak about this and share the information they provided to me without fear of recrimination.

I oppose the lack of transparency when four separate individuals had separate issues with the same Judge and all of those issues were violations of the Colorado Judicial Canons and the Judicial Discipline Commission disregarded every single one in favor of the government actor retaining his seat over providing a remedy to private citizens who were harmed by Judge Furse’s illegal rulings and actions.

At the tail end of my phone call with Natasha Powers on March 24, 2025, she asked me if I was still practicing law in the State of Colorado. I told her I was and she asked me to wait on publishing this until she got directives from the Executive Director (the woman who cited bad law) on whether or not I can publish this. I interpreted that as another threat to silence me and this website was created and published on March 25, 2025 in response to that. I am publishing this under my rights as a citizen of the United States of America and if I am to be punished for breaking a rule that has not yet been written, then I will take my punishment and publish the details of that as well.
